A fainting goat is a breed of domestic goat whose muscles freeze for roughly 10 seconds when the goat is startled. Though painless, this generally results in the animal collapsing on its side. A 62-foot statue of Jesus Christ at a church in Ohio was struck by lightning during a severe thunderstorm on Monday night and exploded into flames.
The statue, worth US$300,000 and made of fiberglass and Styrofoam, burned to the ground, leaving only a wire frame behind. The resulting fire also caused US$400,000 damage to Solid Rock Church in Monroe, Ohio.
Church officials said they would rebuild the statue.
