I always knew being a professional athlete meant making serious sacrifices and that gymnasts don’t really have a childhood, but this like modern day torture to me.

They are, actually, taken from home and from their parents when they were very young. When they start training sessions, most of them have five or six years. For their parents, the only way to see them is on the Olympic games, somewhere in a future.

Oh well I guess it is hand in hand with whaling and dolphin murders!!! These eastern countries really are backward – though industrialized and modern i believe they all display anti-social behavior – same disease most serial killers have!!
