This is the celebration of the vegetarian festival in Phuket, Thailand. The local Chinese community believe that abstaining from meat and other stimulants, as well as self-punishment, drilling of body parts, can bring them peace of mind, health and welfare. The festival begins on the first evening of the ninth lunar month of Chinese calendar and lasts for nine days. How can sticking of diferent weird objects bring you peace?
